FAQs
What is a Rebound Disc and what is a Rebound Jack?
They are both products of the Rebound Disc Practice Systems business that provides a revolutionary practice system for Lawn Bowls and other sports.
The Rebound Discs are made of a uniquely flexible compound that also has the ability to retain a product memory at its right angle or 90° point. This is crucial to the very design and function of the rebound Disc because it brings the Disc back to its desired position of 90°, after being depressed as the lawn bowl passes through.
How durable are the Rebound Discs?
The Rebound Disc has been tested to 4,000 hits! A disc was run over by a roller that completely flattened the Rebound Disc, and after passing over the disc it allowed it to completly return to the upright position. This test was repeted 4,000 times and the disc returned to its upright position every time.
The Rebound Disc can be hit as hard as is humanly possible by a lawn bowl causing the disc to be flattened, and it will still return to the upright position because of the memory in the product.
The Rebound Disc can also be accidently stood on, resulting in twisting and or compression of the disc, but it is so durable that it will still return to its normal shape and to the upright position.
Note: Deliberate misuse resulting in the destruction or partial destruction of the Rebound Disc will void any replacement, which may only be made if a disc is found to be faulty through the unlikely event of product malfunction or defect under normal use.
What type of Lawn Bowls greens are they suitable for?
Grass Greens: Suitable for all Lawn Bowls grass greens - the Rebound Discs are fixed to the Grass Green by 2 nails 30mm X 2mm. When removed, the holes made by the nails can barely be seen, and do nothing more than assist with the aerating of the green.
Synthetic Greens: Consult your greenkeeper. Sand based synthetic greens are suitable for the use of the Rebound Discs but I urge you to consult your greenkeeper prior to purchase to gain permission for the use of the Rebound Discs on your synthetic green. They are fixed by the same method as the grass green, 2 nails 30mm X 2mm, but some bowlers have found a longer nail with the same diameter to be more suitable.
A simple test to see if your synthetic green is suitable: Take a nail, 30mm X 2mm and push it through a piece of off-cut synthetic green that I’m sure your greenkeeper would have in storage! You will see that the back of that off-cut already has holes in it for draining purposes. Push the nail from front through the back and then withdraw the nail. Now see if you can see where it has been; you will note that the hole simply closes over again to such an extent that it can hardly be detected and at if anything, it may play a small part in assisting with drainage.
Please do not purchase or use the Rebound Discs on a synthetic green without first consulting your club and greenkeeper.
Carpet Greens: Suitable– After 12 months of development and searching for the best means of fixing the Rebound Discs to the carpet green, we're pleased to announce that (thanks to the assistance of Ian from Velcro), we have a Velcro fixing method.
Although it adds $10 in cost to each set of Rebound Discs, it is a satisfactory method of fixing to your clubs costly carpet green, and most importantly it does NO damage and works well!
A condition of purchase it that Rebound Disc Practice Systems P/L is deemed not responsible for any damage caused by the incorrect or unauthorised use of its products by a person or persons using the Rebound Discs.
